Introduction

In processes such as reaction, crystallization, filtration and drying, the match between equipment and process often directly affects product purity, batch consistency and long-term operating cost. I. About Us

Wuxi Zhanghua Pharm & Chem Equipment Co., Ltd. was founded in 1976. For nearly 50 years, we have focused on the R&D and manufacturing of core process equipment such as reaction, crystallization, filtration and drying. The company has a building area of over 25,000 m², including 11 production workshops (nearly 15,000 m²), a 4,000 m² office building and an 8,000 m² R&D building.

Starting from single equipment manufacturing, we have gradually developed into a provider of complete-line equipment and automated solutions covering the entire process from reaction, synthesis and crystallization to filtration, washing and drying. We not only provide equipment, but also hope to help customers balance product purity, consistency and production efficiency based on our understanding of processes.

In the field of core process equipment, we have participated in and witnessed several milestones in China's pharmaceutical equipment industry:

· China's first double-cone rotary dryer (1978)
· China's first filtration, washing and drying three-in-one unit (1999)

These experiences have given us a more practical understanding of the integration and intelligence of process equipment, and have also encouraged us to continue investing in R&D.
II. Innovation and Standard Participation

We adhere to industry-academia-research integration, with R&D investment covering the process chain from macro equipment to micro testing. The "Deep-Sensing Micro-Indentation Testing Technology—Palm-sized Mechanics Laboratory" jointly developed with universities can non-destructively, conveniently and rapidly test mechanical properties, residual stress and fracture toughness, and won the Gold Medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva. This technology extends our innovation capability from production equipment to underlying process analysis and quality control.

We have also participated in the development of several national and industry standards:

· GB/T 30583-2026 Code for Post-Weld Heat Treatment of Pressure Equipment — core technical contributor, with the indentation energy difference method written into Appendix G
· T/CSTM 00824 Determination of Residual Stress in Pressure Equipment — Indentation Energy Difference Method — one of the drafting units
· T/CSTM 00826 Code for Induction Heating Post-Weld Heat Treatment of Pressure Equipment

Participating in standard development is a process of exchange and learning with industry peers, and also helps us more accurately understand compliance requirements and technology trends.
III. Core Equipment Capability: Filtration, Washing and Drying Three-in-One Unit

Our filtration, washing and drying three-in-one unit is the embodiment of the above technical concepts. The following functional designs may provide reference for certain process scenarios:

Fully Closed and Automated Integration
The fully closed design helps reduce contamination risk during material transfer, and automated integration reduces manual intervention. In 2023, our three-in-one unit was among the first in China to pass official helium mass spectrometer leak detection certification, with a sealing standard below 1×10⁻⁹ Pa·m³/s. This level provides verifiable sealing assurance for aseptic production and high-potency material handling.

Precise Temperature Control and Uniform Mixing
Technologies such as single cantilever co-rotating/self-rotating integrated single-cone mixing drying and paddle drying are designed to improve batch-to-batch consistency and product stability, suitable for temperature-sensitive scenarios in pharmaceutical and electronic grades.

CIP/SIP
CIP/SIP design helps improve batch changeover efficiency and meets cleaning validation requirements of FDA, EMA and other regulations.

Customized Scale Capability
We have the capability to custom-design and manufacture large equipment over 4 meters in diameter, supporting industrialization scale-up from laboratory to ten-thousand-ton scale.
IV. Integrated Skid-Mounted System and Turnkey Solution for High-Potency Materials

For special processes involving high-potency, highly active, toxic and hazardous materials, we provide integrated skid-mounted systems. The system highly integrates reaction, crystallization, decolorization, filtration, washing, drying, solvent recovery, temperature control and intelligent control functions, aiming to achieve fully closed, efficient and safe operation throughout the process.

We can provide turnkey solutions covering the entire process, including equipment manufacturing, valves and piping, instruments and controls, control systems, skid fabrication, engineering design and system commissioning. This model concentrates our technical accumulation in reaction, crystallization, solid-liquid separation and drying, and can provide customized, highly reliable process equipment support for customers' special operating conditions.
V. Certification and Global Experience

Our solutions and quality management system have obtained multiple international certifications, including EU CE, PED, MD, LVD; US ASME U Stamp; Singapore MOM, etc.

Our equipment has served international pharmaceutical and chemical companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Novartis, DSM, BASF, Bayer, Solvay and DuPont, and has been applied in the production lines of domestic enterprises such as WuXi AppTec, Xinhua Pharmaceutical, Xinhecheng, United Laboratories, Harbin Pharmaceutical, CSPC, Lukang, Guangzhou Baiyunshan and Lianhe Technology. These collaborations have helped us accumulate engineering experience under different process conditions.
VI. Materials and Safety

· Material Experience: As early as 2005, we began applying special materials such as Hastelloy, providing material options for the safe production of highly corrosive and high-potency materials.
· Inherent Safety Design: For flammable, explosive, toxic and hazardous processes, we provide integrated safety solutions from explosion-proof design, high-containment structures to fully automatic control.

The lean manufacturing concepts and equipment originating from high-end pharmaceuticals have also been applied by us to other fields with high quality control requirements:
