Mother Pearl was founded in 2020 by Po Chen, an ex-New York Art Director who returned to Hong Kong to build a sustainable lifestyle brand ecosystem under the Po House platform.
Born from a simple curiosity — a wish to combine the joyful texture of bubble tea with nourishing, ancient plant wisdom — our brand redefines the bubble tea industry as an all-day social wellness hospitality brand, rather than a conventional hand-shaken beverage shop. We deliver self-restoring sensory journeys to culturally curious professionals across Hong Kong, anchored in our core brand tone: curiosity-driven sensory exploration, quiet sophisticated pleasure, and radical transparency as our highest luxury standard.
We strictly avoid clichéd wellness vocabulary and negative nightlife-related wording. Instead, we advocate conscious, moderate alcohol consumption rather than blind drinking. Our 2.0 flagship store in Central features a dual-level spatial design built around the concept of Silent Restraint, crafting a tranquil urban oasis amid bustling Lan Kwai Fong:

Our original visual identity was developed by Hong Kong design studio A Work of Substance, defined by signature pearl-shaped lighting and grounding olive-green facades that form a physical portal separating city hustle from calm exploration. Since launch, we have earned rapid market recognition and secured high-profile cross-brand partnerships with luxury names including Berluti and The Murray Hotel within just five years.
