2. Coupler Structure and Interface Standards
Type B: Female camlock socket x male pipe thread. The female end contains two pivoting cam arms and a replaceable face gasket; the opposite end provides an integral external thread for a matching female-threaded equipment port.
Cam-and-Groove References: A-A-59326 (formerly MIL-C-27487) and applicable EN 14420-7 / DIN 2828 interface designs.
Type B has no hose shank or male camlock nose.
3. Polypropylene Materials and Production
Body: Polypropylene (PP); glass-fiber-reinforced polypropylene (GFPP) options for specified designs.
Manufacturing: Injection molding with controlled tooling and finishing of critical features.
PP offers low weight and resistance to many compatible chemicals. Resin grade, reinforcement, chemical concentration and temperature influence performance.
4. Male Pipe Thread Configurations
BSPP Male (G): ISO 228-1 parallel external pipe thread.
BSPT Male (R): ISO 7-1 tapered external pipe thread.
NPT Male: ASME B1.20.1 tapered external pipe thread.
Thread checks cover pitch, diameter and engagement. Tightening must account for plastic deformation and creep; sealing depends on thread design.
5. Mating Adapters and Cam-Arm Locking
Compatible Male Adapters: Type A (female thread), Type E (hose shank) and Type F (male thread), with matching camlock dimensions and materials.
The two cam arms engage the male adapter's annular groove and draw its mating face against the internal gasket. Socket geometry, lever travel and pivot alignment support repeatable engagement. Type DP male dust plugs protect the disconnected female socket.
6. Replaceable Gaskets and Service Conditions
Gasket Options: NBR (Buna-N), EPDM, FKM and silicone for appropriate fluid and temperature compatibility.
The gasket is seated within the Type B female coupler and seals against a matching male adapter face. Cam arms and pins use suitable corrosion-resistant hardware.
Working pressure and temperature depend on PP/GFPP grade, size, gasket, arm hardware, mating adapter, thread joint and medium. Allowable load can decrease with higher temperature and sustained stress.
